FIRST TOUR: Heart of Florence Walking Tour for Small Group, at 14.45 (14.45 - 16.15)
Our guide will lead you to the breathtaking Duomo complex with its buildings encrusted in marble of many colours: the Cathedral with its vast dome by Brunelleschi, the Baptistery and Giotto's Belfry.
You will proceed then to the imposing, uniquely magnificent stone building of the Church of Orsanmichele, with statues by Donatello, Verrocchio and Giambologna and its exquisite carved marble Shrine by Orcagna, a masterpiece of Florentine Gothic Art.
Nearby is the lively Straw Market with its famous Porcellino (little Wild Boar) Fountain, the astoundingly spectacular Piazza della Signoria is just around the corner, with the sculptural masterpieces kept in the Loggia dei Lanzi and the imposing Palazzo Vecchio - one of the most famous symbols of the city.
Continuing on, you can admire the romantic, picturesque Ponte Vecchio, the oldest bridge in Florence, with its renowned jewellery shops. Finally we arrive in Piazza Signoria, one of the most beautiful squares in the world and the political centre of the city. In this true “outdoor museum”, you’ll be amazed as you admire the beautiful Fountain of Neptune with the marvellous and imposing marble statue by Ammannati and then, looking around, the sculptural masterpieces of the Loggia dei Lanzi, including Cellini’s Perseus and Giambologna’s Rape of the Sabines. Dominating all this is the majestic Palazzo Vecchio with its crenellated Arnolfo's tower, one of the most famous symbols of Florence that you will be able to admire in all its magnificence.
SECOND TOUR: Dinner and Opera in the Heart of Florence, at 19.00 (19.00 - 22.30)
An evening in true genuine Italian style, dedicated to the discovery of the Tuscan cuisine and one of the most famous and popular Operas.
You will enjoy your dinner in the ancient and fascinating neighborhood "Oltrarno", in the old city center where the Restaurant Wine-house is located. It is a characteristic "Buca"(hollow), a typical Florentine tavern, converted from an ancient wine cellar. In this suggestive atmosphere, under arches and vaults dating back to 1200, a tipycal Tuscan dinner is served with a good Chianti wine.
A few steps from the Restaurant, in an intimate and old setting (the Anglican church), you'll enjoy a very special and unforgettable evening. Let the music transport you while, talented singers in costume, perform one of the most beautiful Opera (La Bohème - La Traviata - Carmen - Marriage of Figaro - Madama Butterfly)*, slightly adapted to suit the intimate setting and accompanied by our virtuoso pianist. Our booking is for front row seats to fully enjoy this complete and fascinating show: you have never been so close to opera singers!
