Morning Tour: Your walking tour in the heart of the historic centre starts with the picturesque Ponte Vecchio, the oldest bridge in Florence, famous for its renowned jewellery shops: from here you arrive to Piazza Signoria, one of the most beautiful squares in the world and the political centre of the city. In this true “outdoor museum”, you’ll be amazed as you admire the beautiful Fountain of Neptune with the marvellous and imposing marble statue by Ammannati and then, looking around, the sculptural masterpieces of the Loggia dei Lanzi, including the Cellini’s Perseus and the Gianbologna’s Rape of the Sabines. Dominating all this is the majestic Palazzo Vecchio with its crenellated Arnolfo tower, one of the most famous symbols of Florence that you will be able to admire in all its magnificence. Then we reach the bustling Mercato della Paglia (Straw Market): don’t forget to rub the nose of the famous "porcellino" (pig) and toss a coin into the fountain to bring you good luck! The walk continues along lively Via Calzaioli in the heart of the city, where you can admire the imposing and singular Orsanmichele Church, a masterpiece of Florentine gothic art, decorated with shrines with statues of the patron saints of the powerful medieval trade guilds. The visit continues with the amazing complex of monuments that characterise the religious centre of Florence: the elegant Giotto bell tower, the Baptistery of San Giovanni with the Porta del Paradiso (Gates of Paradise) and the Cathedral with its incredible Brunelleschi dome.
Afternoon Tour: Once inside the Santa Maria del Fiore Cathedral, a treasure chest of inestimable artistic treasures, you will be immediately struck by the elegance of the spaces of the three naves. Lead by your expert Guide you will enjoy the beauty of the splendid marble choir of Bandinelli, the complex of the precious stained-glass windows worked by Donatello, Ghiberti and Andrea del Castagno and the singular and mysterious clock by Paolo Uccello. You will be also surprised to be able to walk on a marvelous carpet of polychrome marbles. Then, looking up, the immense precious interior of the Dome entirely frescoed by Vasari will appear. The Brunelleschi's famous Dome is the largest ever built in masonry and the incomparable icon of Renaissance architecture. On Piazza del Duomo, next to the Cathedral, we also offer you a ticket to spend your free time to visit the precious Museo della Misericordia, a magical place off the beaten track where you can admire works by Santi di Tito, Benedetto da Maiano, Sano di Pietro, Bachiacca, Sogliani, G.
