Our picnic is the great escape, an unforgettable day of vintage cars, beautiful views and lounging by the pool with a gourmet lunch.

On this tour there’s no rush, and plenty of time away from crowds and museums, to enjoy a really Italian experience. You drive a vintage Fiat 500 in a radio-led convoy through country roads and city streets, honking at the waving bystanders, and taking in amazing city views, before heading up to a 15th century villa for a visit of their cellars and a professionally led tasting of award winning wine and olive oil and a delicious lunch of typical Tuscan food.

Weather permitting, lunch is served by the villa’s private pool. Use of the pool is included (particularly popular with kids), so bring your swimming things.

Per vehicle: minimum 2 and maximum 3 adults OR 2 adults with 2 children up to 12 years old. 

Driving Restrictions
To drive one of our vintage cars you MUST be a manual car driver (regularly, as in every day, not occasionally, and not at some point in the distant past). You MUST have a valid license to drive in Italy.  This is a license from Europe. USA, or a license written in the Roman alphabet (not in a language using other characters. es. Chinese) accompanied by your passport. If you don’t have one you will need an INTERNATIONAL LICENSE, which is essentially a translation easily obtained from your driving authority. You MUST have a Credit card.   This is for the insurance documents.  As a driver you have dedicated insurance cover included in the price.   You MUST have held your license for 1 year to drive any of the cars.  All our routes are very carefully researched to enjoy quiet roads once we are out of town, whilst avoiding some of the busy major roads and complicated junctions. From the lead car the guide is linked to your car via RADIO, and will be entertaining you with information (and jokes) on what you are passing.  So all you need to do is smile, wave, hoot the horn and enjoy.
