Overview

Upon arrival in the historical town of Pisa, renowned for its architectural masterpieces a guided walking tour of Piazza dei Miracoli awaits you in Pisa, with the celebrated Leaning Tower, the Baptistery, the Cathedral (*), unrivalled masterpiece of Romanesque art constructed between the 11th and 12th centuries and other important monuments. As the tour ends you will have some free time for shopping or to take pictures.

Then we proceed to the elegant and refined town of Lucca, a pleasant walk with our guide will take you along the famous sixteen century walls, then entering into the enchanting historical center where you will have the chance to admire the amazing Piazza Anfiteatro, the Torre Guinigi, the Duomo di San Martino and the typical “antique dealers’ street”. The tour ends with a typical local pastry tasting in a historic downtown café. After some free time, departure for Florence.

(*) In case of long queue, if you cannot visit the interior of the Cathedral, you will be offered a guided visit of Piazza dei Cavalieri.

A scenic bus drive out to Pisa and to Lucca, with plenty of anecdotes from our guide along the way. Mind-blowing visit to Pisa, definitely a must see for any trip to Florence. There was free time to have lunch in the town of Pisa, with picturesque restaurants and shops. Lucca was like a scene out of a storybook. A full day out, but we never felt that it was too tiring. Plenty of places to sit down and time to purchase souvenirs.

Tour interessante e un po' diverso da quelli che sono solito vedere pubblicizzati. Lucca è stata una rivelazione. Non c'ero mai stato e ne avevo sentito parlare poco ma documentandomi mi ero incuriosito. Bravissime entrambe le guide nelle due città, così preparate e appassionate.
